Live like Jesus

Live Like Jesus

These tenets are meant to help you apply Jesus’ teachings to daily life.

Individuals should:

  1. Make a positive contribution to society
  2. Help those in need
  3. Mind your business; if someone is doing something that you don’t like, but it isn’t causing harm to anyone else, don’t interfere. Don’t try to force people to conform to your moral code. Instead live a life so full of joy and happiness that others want to live like you – be the example, not the enforcer
  4. People make mistakes, forgive them. But do not tolerate hypocrisy or those who willingly and intentionally take from society instead of contributing to it
  5. Be considerate of others; consider the impact of your actions
  6. Be a good steward of natural resources and protector of the earth
  7. Seek to know yourself, and avoid things that might control/dominate your life
  8. Always use discernment; be a critical thinker and don’t just accept answers because you are emotionally drawn to them
  9. Cultivate your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Regularly spend time with friends, meditate, eat well, move and exercise, experience nature

Couples should:

  1. Marriage is a partnership. Communicate regularly; dream together; work toward common goals…together
  2. Show through your actions that you consider your partner, and their needs/desires, in every decision you make
  3. Adore and Appreciate each other. Make sure your partner knows, through your actions, that they are a priority for you. Make them feel needed and desired
  4. Be playful, flirty, and affectionate with each other. Work to make your relationship joyful, such that the thought of your partner instinctively makes you smile
  5. Seek to know your partner and their love language, so that you can do the above in the best way possible for them

Governments should:

  1. Make sure all citizens have their basic needs met
    1. Shelter
    2. Nutritious food and clean water
    3. Healthcare
    4. Education / Opportunity
  2. Intervene when one citizen causes harm to others
  3. Be a good steward of natural resources and protector of the land
  4. Constantly strive to raise the minimum quality of life of its residents. The measure of a government is the quality of life of its poorest and most disenfranchised residents
